Option 1

Individual install.

Use these steps after your account is verified and your plan is selected.

Windows PowerPoint

  1. Download the manifest file and save it in a dedicated folder, such as Documents > PPT Monster Office Addins.
  2. In File Explorer, right-click that folder, choose Properties, then use the Sharing tab to share it with yourself.
  3. Copy the network path Windows gives you. It should look like \\COMPUTER\PPTMonsterOfficeAddins, not C:\....
  4. In PowerPoint, open File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Trusted Add-in Catalogs.
  5. Paste the network path into Catalog URL, choose Add catalog, check Show in Menu, then restart PowerPoint.
  6. After restart, create a blank presentation or open an existing presentation.
  7. Open Home > Add-ins > Advanced > Shared Folder, choose PPT Monster, and sign in.
\\COMPUTER\PPTMonsterOfficeAddins

Tip: even if you are the only user on your own computer, the folder still needs to be shared. Microsoft requires the shared-folder catalog step before PowerPoint will list the add-in, and PowerPoint usually shows add-ins only after a presentation is open.

Download manifest

Mac PowerPoint

  1. Download the manifest file.
  2. Open Finder, press Command + Shift + G, and go to the PowerPoint add-ins folder.
  3. Create the wef folder if Finder says it does not exist.
  4. Move the downloaded XML file into that folder.
  5. Fully quit PowerPoint, reopen it, then create a blank presentation or open an existing presentation.
  6. Inside the open presentation, choose Home > Add-ins > PPT Monster.
  7. Sign in with your verified PPT Monster account email and password.
~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef

Tip: on Mac, PPT Monster will not appear from the PowerPoint start screen or recent-files screen. Open a blank presentation first, then use Home > Add-ins.

PowerPoint on the web

  1. Open PowerPoint on the web and create a blank presentation or open an existing presentation.
  2. Select Home > Add-ins, then More Settings.
  3. Choose Upload My Add-in.
  4. Upload the downloaded manifest file.
  5. Open PPT Monster and sign in with your verified PPT Monster account email and password.

Tip: start from inside an open presentation. Office on the web stores uploaded add-ins in browser storage, so if you clear cache, switch browsers, or use another computer, upload the file again.

Download manifest
PPT Monster does not appear in PowerPoint.

First create a blank presentation or open an existing deck, then check Home > Add-ins. Add-ins may not appear from PowerPoint's start screen or recent-files screen. On Windows, confirm the Catalog URL is a network share path, Show in Menu is checked, and PowerPoint was restarted. On Mac, confirm the XML file is inside the PowerPoint wef folder. On the web, upload the manifest again if browser storage was cleared.

PowerPoint says the manifest is invalid.

Download a fresh copy of the manifest, do not rename the file extension away from .xml, and make sure any copied URL has no extra punctuation at the beginning or end.
